ABOUT

I'm Iris, a Copywriter, Project Manager and Communications Strategist.

My experience is creating compelling, values-based copy and intuitive user-first workflows for websites, online courses, digital products and communications.

I believe that collaboration, communication, and joyful connection are the backbone of sustainable and profitable business — with soul and without sacrifice.

The best part is that when we lean into our guiding values, they work. I have seen and contributed firsthand to businesses that center wellbeing, reciprocity, and equity, and they are well paid for it. The feelings (and the results) are mutual and exponential.

Community care in business can look like:

  • Sales pages and marketing that speak to shared connection and a desire for curiosity, expansion, and learning, rather than the norm of urgency, limitation, or deficiency

  • Customer service templates that humanize and encourage clients to feel heard when they come to you – even when you have to disappoint them

  • Newsletter strategy that expresses vulnerability, has actual usefulness for readers, and answers your question of always wondering what to write about

  • Intuitive operations and systems paired with clear direction and communication that allow your customers to feel confident in their experiences with your products and services

  • Streamlined backend processes so you and your team can labor less on infrastructure and engage more with ideas, collaboration, and life beyond work

For the last 10+ years, I’ve grown a career based on partnership and support from a place of devotion, sustainable practice, and intentional communication.

Some highlights: I began freelance self-employment in 2017 as a business coach, administrative support, and live event coordinator, which has evolved into the project management, copywriting, and behind-the-scenes business workings you see today.

For four years in the middle there, I was the Director of Customer Experience at a highly successful niche online course school, where I managed all written communications, project management, operations, content strategy, and customer service.

These days, I lean into the projects and the people who are interested in making an impact, but not at the expense of their bodies, their teams, their clients, or their profits — because these are not mutually exclusive options.

I’m also trained Co-Active Coach through the Co-Active Training Institute, and while coaching isn’t my bread and butter anymore, there is a component of getting to the root of every matter through communication, values, and being truthful with our needs. Thoughtful business and personal coaching principles lead every facet of my work no matter the task, and if it’s not clear already, I lead my work with my heart and a sense of embodied commitment.

My identities strengthen the connection + effectiveness of your work

The inner workings of my identities and neurodivergent brain mean that I have:

A strong verbal capacity that centers emotional intelligence and deep empathy with an innate understanding how to humanize what we say to build trust and help digital spaces feel approachable.

The built in capacity to be a systems-oriented thinker and a prolonged ability to execute project tasks from both the ground level and from a higher view, while knowing the human and technical realities.

Inherent organizational skills and pattern recognition that create intuitive and comprehensive workflows and processes.

The desire to intimately know a project from start to finish to understand and review where processes can be improved for clarity and ease.

Neurodivergence is often linked with an innate concern for social justice, equity, and empathy, and coupled with my intersection of identities and privilege, that means all of my work has the intention of inclusion, understanding, and equity (and the space for learning and correction for when my impact lands differently).
